Unicode entities in HTML docs

I’ve got an HTML file which contains some entities like this ☐

Firefox, IE and MS Word are all quite fine with this. LO for some reason displays 2610;. Note, not the missing glyph box, but the number without the &#X.

Is there a workaround?

Answering my own question, it works if you use decimal. That is a workaround. Hex works in every other HTML renderer I’ve ever seen.

@granolageek, I agree – hex codes should be supported. I’m actually a little surprised that they aren’t supported already. Could you please double-check this issue with LO 4.0 and (if that still doesn’t work) file an enhancement bug?

Thanks!
