How to do double underlines

The last answer I received, how to create an outer border with inner cells retained, works perfectly now I understand how to do it.

The DOUBLE UNDERLINES just don’t happen when I use the advised Format>Text>Underline: double. Even with the zoom in there are no double underlines to be seen.

Is there something I’m doing wrong or is there another way I can get therse double underlines to show?

Did you selected text you want in double underline, then you go Format → Text → Underline → Double. I work for me on LibreOffice 5.3.6

Please add comments and edit the original question rather than creating a new one that asks the same thing.

Underlining may disappear if the line spacing is too narrow. Make sure that the line spacing is single.

I think I’ve caused confusion because I didn’t want to underline the TEXT, I wanted to underline the CELLS and I discovered to do it within the “Format Cells” option and from there it worked.

Sorry for not explaining myself properly.
