How to retrieve a document I accidentally killed?

I was on page 6 typing a research doc when my hand (the Ulnar Claw) accidentally twitched and killed it off. Is there any hope of retrieving it? I’m using Libre Writer in Ubuntu 16.01. HELP anyone?!?
Thank you

Quoting @dscottmc: “…twitched and killed it off”
A funny way to talk about a serious problem. What did you ulnar claw actually do? Wich keys were probably hit? Got LibO closed? Why wasn’t there a prompt for saving? If not closed: Why didn’t Ctrl+Z help? What did you already try?
Don’t like guessing much concerning relevant questions.

Had the document been saved? As soon as possible do the following:

Download Recuva (Windows only) or PhotoRec for Win, MacOS, Linux and other OSes (only one needed) and let it do an in-depth recovery of deleted files on your computer. You may get a file containing some or all of your data (or not). Do this as a first priority; other use of the computer may overwrite any existing but deleted files and prevent their recovery. There is no guarantee that you will recover anything useful.
