How to clear web formatting?

Hi, I copy and paste a lot of bits of text from different web pages and normally in Word I hit a button to clear formatting but I cant seem to find how to do this in LibreOffice Writer.

I tried Clear Direct Formatting in the Formatting menu but with mixed results, the text is still all different sizes and there are strange grey blocks everywhere.

Dose anyone have any idea how to go about this?

Paste "special" CTRL+Shift+v for inserting unformatted text in the first place.

edit: added the missing Shift- thanks @RGB-es.... and TIL: the direct call of "paste unformatted", thanks @RGB-es again

Not sure I understand. CTRL+C to CTRL+V is how I copy and paste anyhow. What do you mean by "special"?

"Paste special" is called with CtrlShiftV. There is a shortcut for "paste special as unformatted text": CtrlAltShiftV. Yep, a four key "shortcut" :)

Nice, four key shortcuts make me feel like a keyboard ninja.
