How do I change default frame width? It's set to 0.79"!

Went to Styles and Formatting>Frame Styles>set the new frame width of 7">Apply>OK It shows as being saved BUT how to make it the default? When I go to put in a Frame the old width is still there.
This is for a long existing document – I don’t want to make a new Template just to change one default setting.

This is not the best solution but you can try it.

  • Prepare the default

Display the styles side panel with F11 and click on the third icon from the left in the toolbar (frame styles).

Right-click on Frame and choose Modify… from the dropdown menu. Change the width in the Type tab and click OK.

  • For every frame insertion

Insert a frame as usual without bothering for the default width. Tune the other settings (if your settings are always the same, you can preset them in the Frame style modification. Click OK (there is no change compared to what you do presently).

In the style side panel, double-click on another frame style, then double-click on Frame.

This is not ideal, but closest to what you hope for.

Thanks for thinking about this but since I generally want to display my Bookmarks this would require more “clicks” than what I do now which is Insert>Frame>Frame>hold Delete key>type 7 for the width>Enter

Still think there must be a way to change that default setting without making a new Template.
Any ideas anyone?
