how to hide field buttons in pivot chart

I was wondering how to hide field buttons in a pivot chart; Version: 5.4.2.2. I cant export a diagram without the field buttons.

Still not possible, see link for explanation

This question is a bit vague. Are you talking about the row and column sort/filter buttons? Those don’t show up in PDF export…

See the pivot charts on Tomaz’s dev blog. It has been a lot of effort to make these field buttons work. But how to hide them?

Ah, sorry, I see the problem now. The buttons on the pivot table disappear, but the ones on the chart don’t. That’s unfortunate.

BTW, I think your link illustrating the feature in MSO should be added to your question, not provided as an answer (because it isn’t).

Still not possible, but I found a work around. To simply copy and paste the chart solves the problem. The new chart seems to be a normal ole object and also contains a data table. This makes it possible to do adjustments to the legend and even to the internal data table which no longer is associated with the pivot. And it does not contain the field buttons!

If a chart is directly generated form within the pivot table, the legend cannot be adjusted and there is no access to the internal data table. The reason for this is quite simple; the field buttons rely on the pivot table and this imposes restrictions. Once copied this is no longer the case.
