Data source not found - check connection settings

I am able to print Base labels from my desktop PC (Windows 10). Files copied onto my laptop (also Windows 10) and I can open database file but not able to print the labels using the same file from the desktop. I get the message 'data source ‘name of file’ not found; asking me to ‘check connection settings’.
Desktop PC LO 5.4.1.2
Laptop LO 5.3.6.1
Advice please, thanks.

Hello,

This is somewhat of an educated guess because you have provided limited information.

You do not specify where you are printing the labels from. Could be Report Builder but I’ll go with Writer more because of the error. When you set this up on the desktop, you registered the database to be able to get the information from Base. When you moved over to the laptop, did you then register the database with the same name (but now different location) as originally on the desktop? If not, this is probably the problem.

If this is not your circumstance, please specify what the set-up is for printing.

Thank you. I used ‘Writer’. I think you are right with registering the database. Unfortunately I cannot remember now how to do it. Can you guide me?

Just make certain the name used is identical to the original.

To register the database go to Options > LibreOffice Base > Databases. If your database is not in the list that shows select “New” button to add your database.

Thank you! It worked.
