How to protect only the data cells in a spreadsheet

I would like to only protect the data cells in a spreadsheet

Select all the cells (Ctrl+Shift+Space Bar).
Choose menu Format - Cells… (the same that Ctrl+F1), Cell Protection tab, uncheck Protected, OK.
Select the data cells.
Choose menu Format - Cells…, Cell Protection tab, check Protected, OK.
Choose menu Tools - Protect Sheet, select (or not) a password, OK.

Tested with LibreOffice 6.3.6.2 (x86); OS: Windows 6.1.
