Doesn't recognize any video formats

I am putting together a presentation I need complete by the end of November. I have tried to insert a .mov & a .mp4 and I get a error message that says -the format of the selected file is not supported. I try to insert a .avi and the program goes into ‘Not responding’.

I am using Win 7 Pro, 64 bit.
I am using LibreOffice Impress 5.4.2.2

  1. Can you play these media files with Windows Media Player?
  2. Can you make these video files available for testing?

There is an “Options” tab on the insert audio / video dialog box.
At least on mac.
There you can select what types of files you wan’t to use.

I stumbled with this all day, then finally converted the AVI file into a WMV, and voila! Embedded seemlessly.
