Using LO 5.4.0.3 (x64), 5.4.1 or 5.4.2 on Windows 10 1703
The Impress Slide Show screen display for text was rather course. Version 5.4.3.2 seems to have resolved this problem. The fonts are now rendered smoothly for a much nicer presentation. I did not spot any specific bug fix that was attributed to this but am thankful that the display is now much better.
However, enabling OpenGL introduces other problems. Using an Arial font (and some others) in italics results in some characters being “clipped off” when the adjacent character begins in the same pixel area as the clipped character. The solution here seems to be not to use OpenGL.
Currently no question to be resolved but just reporting what I have seen and kind of wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.
