I have some DOC/DOCX files that contain embedded fonts. Is it possible for LO to use those fonts? Opening these files directly causes the fonts to be substituted by some others.
I don’t know if this is possible in LO. I suggest the following work-around.

Convert the .doc./.docx to pdf (I expect that LO will not embed the font into the exported pdf-document (please, have it try), but one can use either a web-based-tool, either some kind of application (depending on your OS).

Extract the font from the pdf-file. There are lot of tools available (eg. mupdf, …)

Import the extracted font into your system
