How to Change Footers?

I want footers to change throughout a single document. “Default Style” changes to “Converted1” and that takes care of the first two different footers. I can get no further than that. I’m on Windows 10 using LibreOffice Writer 5.4.3.2. Thanks.

Footers are part of the page style. If you have different footers so you have to use different page styles. You can apply page styles by some proceedings; the easiest is to click the status bar and to open there page styles. Is that satisfying for you? - Give more information about your document.

And, yes, is there a reason to post your question as a wiki?!

@Grantier: please repost your comment as an answer.

There already many answers to this question on this site. They range from having a separate page style per “part” of your document (as @Grantler mentioned) to automatically generated footer depending on “part” property with fields.

The style name “Converted1” (or any other number) suggests very strongly that you save in docx format. While you can save files in that format or any other format foreign to LibreOffice, it is not recommended to do that as long as you are working on a document. It’s much better to save in the native format of the software that you work in, and only to save in another format when you have to share a document with somebody who doesn’t have LibreOffice or requires it in that other format. Beware: especially header and footer content in documents with several page styles may get lost in conversion,
