No duplex printing option available

I am running version 5.3.6.1 on Windows 10. When using File/Print, the properties button does not pull up the expected dialog with options for my Brother MFC-2740DW, specifically an option for duplex printing. There is a rather generic tree that doesn’t have a duplex option available, as the program doesn’t seem to sense my printer.

I have looked at the answers relating to duplex printing and have found nothing that helps/applies. Under the Options tab, I have checked “Use only paper tray from printer preferences” and “Use only paper size from printer preferences”, as advised in one of the answers, which didn’t help.

I have written windows programs in the past, and this is something that every program that prints under windows should provide.

Thanks for helping. I uninstalled and reinstalled the print driver and it works.

Cannot reproduce with Version: 5.4.3.2 (x64)

As seen on screenshot, clicking on the Properties… (1) brings the printer driver’s custom settings dialog. It has settings specific to the printer, i.e. the duplex settings (marked as (2) on screenshot).

The problem you see is likely some incompatibility, e.g., with bitness of driver vs. LibreOffice (a blind guess).

EDIT: after installing the driver for your mentioned printer from official site (I used “Add Printer Wizard Driver” option - 04/05/2016 (1.11.0.0)), I also don’t reproduce the problem:
