How to show text box outline?

I would like to show a vague text box outline (but not one is printed) so I can roughly see the area of the text box (as with Microsoft Office).

I have recently switched to LibreOffice and am still learning and do actually prefer it’s speed.

Thanks.

I have the same suggestion. It is convenient to see the selection outline for a text box when it is active, as this allows fast moving/resizing/editing. Currently, when the text box is active, the selection outline is not visible (which is the case in MS Office, however).

I can see the text box outlines when I create a new text box but if I close the file and re-open it, the outlines are no longer visible. (But new text boxes have visible outlines.)
I would also like to know how to make the outlines visible for all text boxes.

Hi @dillonl124,

The Online Help describes how to add a border to a text box, but doesn’t seem to indicate how one would add a non-printing border.

Edit: Re-reading your answer, it’s now unclear to me whether your issue is that you don’t want the border to print, or that you do want the border to print, but it is not being printed. Could you clarify?
