How do I activate spell check

No matter what I do, I cannot access dictionaries or spell check in LO writer (I use Ubuntu OS)

??? Where do comments/answers go anyway? Frustrating this. Anyway, I solved my “no spell check” problem by reloading the dictionary extensions that came pre-packaged but didn’t install properly.
