Memory glut?

When I load LibreOffice, Task Manager shows memory usage at 33.5 MB. I then open a 15 KB document (The title page for a new document) and memory usage jumps to 257.7 MB! Closing the document only drops memory usage to 255.8 MB (-1.9 MB). Reopening and closing the SAME 15 KB document jumps memory usage to 336 MB and down to 332.6 MB. I had Quickstarter enabled but found that memory was not freed up unless I closed soffice.bin through Task Manager. With Quickstarter disabled I can clear the memory glut by closing LO. Of course, as soon as I open a document it just eats up the memory again. Is there anything that can be done to free up the memory as each document is closed?

Well: 15 KB and 257 MB aren’t a problem here. The file size doesn’t necessarily correlates to memory usage. This file, for instance, is only 141 KB, has not a single cell filled (just 10000 empty sheets), and eats more than 4 GB of memory.

The problem is that your file takes more and more memory on close and reopen.

Could you try with a newer version (e.g., 6.0.0.2), and if the problem persists, file a bug report with the file attached?
