What happens if an Impress file is modified while a slideshow is running? Will the slideshow update?

I currently have a PowerPoint slideshow running constantly on an overhead TV, which lives on a file share and is displayed by a kiosk computer. The file is monitored by a script which restarts PowerPoint whenever it detects a change (runs every 10 minutes).

I’m in the process of converting the slideshows over to Impress, and am looking to simply the setup somewhat. If I have the slideshow running in Impress in read-only mode, and the file is modified from another location, will the slideshow detect those updates and keep running? Or will I still need some sort of scripted mechanism to detect the latest changes to the file?

Not a definitive answer, but it seems to me that the file cannot be modified while the show is running.
