Can't find folder for jre

tools/options/advanced shows no java environments. Clicked on add and found the java folders but says no java environment. Tried all the subdirectories with no result

Let me find my crystal ball… OK, here it is. So, what do I see there… aha: you use Windows; and installed LibreOffice x64; and didn’t bother to take a brief look at the multitude of answers here to questions mentioning Java, where each asker gets the same answer, that if you have 64-bit LibreOffice, then you need 64-bit Java?

Or maybe you have macOS and JRE, but need JDK (as also stated multiple times here for macOS-related questions)?

Have 64 bit versions of both Libreoffice and Java for Windows 10. Do I need JDK for Windows? Went through all the Java folders under the Program Files (x86)/Java/jre1.8.0_161 folder and nothing shows up in tools/options/advanced and trying to add a jre there.

x86???

isn’t that 32-bit???

Please use a comment, not an answer to respond.

As I expected. Java 32-bit.
