Specifically I am referring to the cursor when inside text. It is very difficult to even see or find the cursor, even when blinking.
Is there a way to change its default appearance? It can be done in MS Office, which I have done.
How do I do it in LO?

LibreOffices uses the system’s cursors. As you seem to be on Windows, you may try to find the “ease of access” tuning panel though thoroughly obscured in the specific way of your Win version. There you should be “gracefully” allowed to set the cursor thickness to a suitable value. Default seems to be 1 pixel.
