Cannot get LO6 to properly install and operate on the latest Windows 10 Home

When I try installing it pops up a message that it cannot create the shortcut in the location specified and then rolls back the installation. Added LO6.msi to the Defender Allowed list - same message appears. Got the install to finish be unchecking the Create shortcut step. The manually created shortcuts on the desktop for each program. Now when I open a document the following message appears 'The lock file could not be created for exclusive access by LibreOffice, due to missing permission to create a lock file on that file location or lack of free disk space." Only Open Read-Only is available. I have already added each of the following .exe files to Defender’s list - sbase, scalc, sdraw, simpress, smath, swriter.

It doesn’t help to add MSI to defender allowed list. Just disable it for the time of installation. You would need to add the soffice.bin to the list after installation to allow correct work, though.

Thanks. That worked.

Didn’t work for me for OO v6.0.2.1. Added soffice.bin and restarted - getting same error message. Going to use prior version instead of fighting.

There’s no OO v6.x currently AFAIK
