Ubuntu 17.10.1

LO Version: Build ID: 1:6.0.1~rc1-0ubuntu0.17.10.1~lo1 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.13; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

Email and internet connection check successfully, Internet email setting points to usr/bin/gnome-gmail which is the default application. When I go to send/email in writer it returns "LibreOffice was unable to find a working e-mail configuration." Tried Evolution also and still get the same return.

Any help out there or is this a bug.

Recently installed Ubuntu Mate 17.10 for testing & to see if it suited my needs. Had no email client setup as of yet although Thunderbird was installed. Removed the pre-installed LO & installed v6.0.1 had around from TDF. Opened Writer & tried the send document. It first opened a mail form then immediately started the setup process for Thunderbird. Upon completing the setup, the email was successfully sent.

In looking at the Ubuntu Software Boutique, only Thunderbird was shown for email clients.

Based upon this can't say whether it's the email clients you are using or LO version you may have installed - maybe PPA?

As stated, the 6.0.1 TDF version worked without problem. You need to report to PPA for resolution.

Had another thought, try resetting the User Profile (or possibly run in Safe Mode). It has been know to sometimes cause strange problems.

Hooray! Now works. Found the previous version not completely uninstalled so did a purge then reinstalled LO 6.0.1 using the LO website deb tar.. Set it up and when I clicked send/email thunderbird came up with the file attached, wonderful. While your help did not point directly to the fix it led me to do some research, thank you Ratslinger.

Glad it it now working. Still think it may have been related to user profile. Please note, preferred method of install in Ubuntu is PPA due to OS integration. If that was part of the problem it should be fixed.
