Master document styles not updating new document

Hello,
I’ve created a master document, with 6 documents, style is the same all over.
but when adding a new document later, the style is not the same as the master document or any of the other 6 documents created initially.
any solution for this? i’ve tried updating styles manually from Styles → load style → chose a document from the ones created before., and didn’t work.
thank you

When you include slave documents into a master document, they come with own style definitions. Even if the styles have the same name in all documents, differences in the definitions may creep in. The situation is even worse if you applied direct formattiong because direct formatting always override what’s in styles.

The best way to achieve what you want is to base all slave documents on the same template so that when template styles are changed you are offered the oportunity to update. The master document should also be based on the template.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to base an existing document on a template once it has been created and saved. Your alternative (after building the required templates) is to create new template-based documents into which you paste text from existing documents. But take a special care to preserve your present styling otherwise you’ll need to restore it manually.
