Why does LibreOffice give me wrong page count?

I’m writing a small report for my school, and have added a front page (with no page number), and now I have two pages beside the front page. The problem is that when I use the “Page Count”-field it tell me that I have four pages - but I only have two (three if I count front page). The page numbering show the right numbers.

I’m using LibreOffice 3.6.5.2 on Fedora 18.

This is unusual. Could you upload your document somewhere (maybe http://www.filedropper.com/) and post a link here?

Sure, here it is: http://www.filedropper.com/praktikrapport

You found a neat feature again. Odd numbered pages are ALWAYS on the right side, also your page style is two-sided (Left and right). The thing is, you have added a page break with explicit page number 1. And the first page is #1. So to make your new page to be on the right side, an virtual empty page is added. To fix this either use page number 2 or make your page style layout single-sided (Left only or Right only). A vague wiki page on how to do this: Page - LibreOffice Help

Thanks! I removed the page break, and that solved my problem.

You could add the page break back, just don’t force it to be odd numbered 1, 3, 5…

@Kritho - I tried to download the file but the download doesn’t work. Maybe it works only for registered people. Sorry I don’t want to register. I am using the same LibO version just on XP and have no problem with page numbers. Thus, I am sure your problem can be solved.

It could also be helpful to describe step-by-step what you did. With this description the problem could possibly be identified
.

The download works just fine. But yeah, finding download links on such pages often is a trial and error

@mahfiaz - I am glad you could look at the file and provided the solution for Kristho

@ROSt53, btw, if you know any better (with actually usable interface) file sharing options which don’t require registration, could you please share these?

@ mahfiaz - dropbox. You can share files and/or folders. Have a look.

Dropbox is nice but doesn’t cut it, if no registration is a requirement.

@mahfiaz - dropbox - Only the person who wants to share a file or folder needs to be registered.

@ mahfiaz - it should also be possible to make an attachement here.

I hope it works. However you need some karma points.

That’s nice.

I seems there is no minimum karma needed to attach files.

thus no dropbox or similar things are needed.
