I am trying to open Word with a blank document to write a letter. However, it will only open with a saved template of a fax I sent. I cannot get rid of that and get a blank. I have tried uninstalling LibreOffice and reinstalling a fresh copy but the same fax keeps coming up. How can I get rid of this?

You may have set that template file as your default template. See for help to restore a blank document as your default template.

Which do you use? The main program or the swriter.exe?

Try opening the main program found in program files>libre office>program>soffice.exe. Swriter.exe is in the same location.

And LibreOffice's word processor is called Writer, not Word. Just to keep from confusing people.
