Page count does not adjust automatically

When writing a document in LibreOffice, the page count in the bottom left-hand does not update. The same goes for when I attempt to move up or down in the document. What’s going on?

EDIT: No, I’m not in Web view. I’d never even heard of it until today.

For example, the document I’m looking at right now has 13 pages. I’m talking about the little “Page 1 of 13” thing in the bottom left-hand corner of the document’s interface. When I go to what is visibly page 2, there is no change. When I Ctrl-Enter to create a 14th page, there is no change.

How many pages do you have? In Web view pages can have a huge length. We need more information.

Depends on the document. None of them update page total until I save, close, and re-open, and even then your current page number and pages written never update. I don’t know what you mean by “web view,” I’m talking about 8.5" by 11" pages with margins of .79" per side. Basic stuff.

See Web Layout - LibreOffice Help . Because HTML doesn’t know about pages, small documents will be considered as a single page. Pretty basic stuff too.

I don’t think you know what I’m talking about. I certainly don’t have any idea what you’re talking about. I’m not writing a webpage, I’m just writing a story or an RPG idea to become a PDF.

Okay, I finally figured out that, for some reason, you thought I was in web view. I wasn’t.

OK, here are my questions: (1) does your doc make use of “sections”? (I’m guessing no.) And (2) does it make heavy use of embedded images? (I’m guessing maybe.)

I played with a document, pressing Ctrl+Enter a few times to force page breaks and of course the page count and running page number was continually updated. This is something on your computer, with your LibreOffice. We are quite willing to help, but you need to give us more to chew on, like a sample file.
