Mail merge not printing

If I try and print mailmerge either to a file or to the printer neither works.

Saving to a file - A filename is requested, but no file is created.

Printing a standard document - Works fine

Printing a mailmerge = No printer dialogue box appears to select number of copies or other details and nothing gets printed.

“Use OpenGL” and “ForceOpenGL” are both unchecked (which was the solution to the similar Q61106).

Libre Office 5.1.6.2 (just uploaded the latest version) on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

The correct procedure seems to be as follows

1. Open the document
2. Press F4 for data sources, and select the required Table (NOT Query)
3. select any record
4. press “Data to Fields”
5. Print, and accept Yes to mail merge
6. NOW select the required Table or Query on the mail merge screen, and select the required records
7. Print.

Step 4 seems to be the crucial step, even for existing merge documents. Step 3 is necessary to enable step 4.

I’m on Mac Os X 10.13.6 with LibreOffice 6.1.0.3. JDK 10.2 and MySQL connector 8.0.12.

Using the above procedure does not work. I deleted the preferences folder for LO and reconfigured but get the same result. Base has no problem connecting to MySQL.

BUT the mail merge fails. Print shows 123 records to merge. All I get is one page with no data merged. I recently updated LO but this was working several months back.

I only use it 4 times a year to print labels for our magazine.
