In macOS, okay to delete fonts from folder in package?

I just started using LibreOffice and while I’m glad it includes lots of foreign-language fonts for people who need them, I would like to remove the fonts I’ll never use. Is it okay to just remove unwanted fonts from the fonts folder within the application package (LibreOffice.app>Contents>Resources>fonts>truetype)?

Thanks!

Yes. It is OK to remove the unwanted fonts (I do).

And LibreOffice will annoyingly install them again with the next update.
All the new useless fonts included with LO6 just make this problem that much more annoying.
Also annoying when an older version font is installed over one you have already installed.

There have been multiple requests to allow users to opt-out of installing certain fonts.
Has not happened.

I’d settle for just the option to not install any fonts (like many other applications do).
That way once you have cleaned-out all the crap you don’t have to do it again, over and over and over.

I guess the LO usability guru feels that Ray-the-moron (LO primary user persona) won’t notice the mess.

.

Thanks. I’d put this in the category of minor annoyances. It’s in a completely different universe from what Microsoft does in Office 2016. Like LO, fonts are hidden away in a folder within the application package. But deleting them just makes them unusable, not invisible; they still fill up your menus. I think the real problem is Apple’s sandboxing rules and what it forces developers to do if they want to give users any fonts at all.
