Will LibreOffice read my microsoft documents & spreadsheets?

Compatible to microsoft office?

You can certainly open MS word, Excel and PowerPoint files on Libra Office. However some complex elements such as tables may jump around a little or display strangely. If you feel like experimenting with something new (outside of your existing Office documents) you can also try saving in ODF (Open Document Format). It does a really nice job with cross compatibility. It is not perfect but it does quite well. I have found that even the Impress ODP presentation suite files open in PowerPoint nicely. You might find it’s worth experimenting with to see if it fits your cross compatibility needs.

Yes, you are able to open M$ Office files as well as many other file formats.

It fails to open files with complex data, but normal ones are opened nicely.

How do I get it to open? Just clicking on the old saved document doesn’t work. Do I have to do something special? Thanks!!
