in libreoffice writer, is there a way of applying a timestamp to each sentence or word that has been written? Perhaps when the mouse cursor is placed above a word, I can see what time it was written? I need this for a court matter I am dealing with and it would help to know exactly when someone said something to the court.
This may not be exactly what you’re looking for. Have you tried Edit>Track Changes>Record? When there are several authors, a tooltip appears when hovering over text giving change author name and date. However, it does not seem to work well in single-author mode. Also, text tends to become difficult to read due to changes being displayed.
Otherwise, if you don’t mind tagging manually your sentences, you may add comments with Insert>Comment and entering any reminder in it. This may be cleaner than Track changes since comments are displayed on the side not in-text.
You can also combine both features.
