Fragmented selections

LibreOffice Calc version 6.0.5.2 running on Linux Mint Xfce 18.3

In Excel, ALT+; enables the user to select a fragmented selection, or a series of discrete ranges, all of which are visible to the user.

A common use of this is within the context of an auto-filtered list where a batch operation needs to be performed on the filtered data, and only the filtered data, not the hidden data (outside the scope of the filter).

Is there an alternative in LibreOffice Calc?

If you select a range of filtered data across rows hidden by a filter and copy it, only the unhidden data (also attributes, formulae…) are copied and can then be pasted into an unfiltered range. Filtered rows are excluded also for ranges (or parts of them) outside the range for which the filter was defined.

However, you cannot copy from multiselections independent of whether they touch filtered ranges or not.
This does not apply to multiselections restricted to one common range of columns or to one common range of rows.
Such selections get “compacted” and will paste as one rectangular range.

See the comment by @erAck .

Rows hidden expressly (not by filtering) are included when copying a selection accross the hidden rows.

To create selections consisting of many parts Ctrl+Mousdragging is used (on Win, bur surely similar under different OS).

You can copy a multi-selection if the selections cover the same columns , i.e. multiple contiguous row fragments within more or more columns, e.g. B2:C2,B4:C4,…

Thanks! My wording seriously lacke precision.
