LibreOffice Draw - retaining slant and corner radius values [closed]

I have recently downloaded LibreOffice Draw (4.0.1.2) as an alternative to Visio. I have managed to ascertain how to use much of the functionality to create basic drawings. However, I am puzzled as to how to get Draw to retain the values that I enter for the slant and corner radius for rectangular shapes. If I change them, the corners round and show as such on the screen. However, on saving, closing and reopening the drawing, the values get lost and the shape shows as a regular rectangle again. Any clues?
