I have a Publisher document that I’m trying to recreate in Writer. Basically, it’s a document with some boilerplate and some text that gets changed for each printing.
In Publisher, I open the document and it pops up a dialog box that asks me for a name, address, and date. I fill these in and the macro runs a simple search and replace, replacing every instance of FNAME with the text I typed in the FNAME field, LNAME with the test from the LNAME field, and so on.
Is there a way to build a macro in Writer that will allow me to pop up a dialog box when the document is first opened and then replace placeholder text with the data I’ve entered? Or is there another way to do this that I’m not thinking of?
