I’m getting a new computer and want to save my documents first.
How you do it depends very much on which operating system is installed on your old computer. It would be a big help if you told us that.

A USB drive will appear as a disk drive in your system when plugged in and properly formatted (usually comes formatted). Copying LO files is like any other files on your system. Copy from where you store them & paste on USB. You may want to take the opportunity to organize them if needed.
It is preferable to copy & paste rather then move them. Once on the new computer make sure they are working properly before deleting from the old computer. Backup, Backup, Backup.
