Libre Office not using full Unicode Space and refuses to show a special character that's installed.

I am studying and writing cuneiform for ancient sumarian studies, but I can’t get LibreOffice to recognize any cuneiform. After installing ttf-ancient-fonts from the repository it still displays 𒀭 (an) as a couple of question marks.

How can I import the cuneiform subspace font into Libre Office? All other programs can access it fine.

Works for me in Writer LO 6.1.0.3 on Windows 7 x64.
I downloaded the ancient fonts font package and installed the Akkadian font.
I then used the Special Characters dialog to insert the Unicode 1202D character which is the Cuneiform Sign AN.
See screenshot below.

Please be more specific about which font you are using and how you are entering the characters.

Are you sure the fonts are actually activated and working?

Update: Please post an image of your Special Characters dialog.

.

I tried using the special characters dialog, and it wouldn’t find them, but it did find them if I opened a file with the characters already in the file. So, unless I have another program write a document with the character in it, it won’t list them in the special characters or let me paste them in.

Please post a screenshot of your Special Characters dialog.
You can add it to your original post as an update.
If you cannot attach files yet, post a link to the image - Imgur works well.
On my phone at the moment so I cannot provide an example image.
Will check back in a few hours when on my laptop.
Think I may know the issue.
