Control values on axes in line chart

I am trying to create a line chart with two columns in a calculate file. That works. But I cannot get the x axis to match with a third column from the same file. Nor can I control the range of values on the y-axis. How do I do that?

If right-clicking on an axis does not bring up a dialog box with an entry for "Format Axis", then you will have to use an x-y (scatter) chart instead of a line chart. X-y (scatter) charts offer many features for formatting of the axes, including scaling of the axes, formatting of the of the labels, etc. Other things too.

Use X-Y chart. In a line chart, the abscissa is the row number if your data are given in column. With X-Y chart the first column is the abscissa and the second column is the ordinate.
