calc save as to excel rejected passsword for excel sheet

error: "the inserted text exceeded the maximum length of this text field" i have a 26 character password. is there any way i can avoid shortening it?

FYI, password protection for some of the Excel save-as options doesn't really work. LO will allow you to set passwords, but others can read and/or write to these files without the proper passwords. I filed a couple of bug reports on this https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/s... and https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/s.... I did not test all possible Excel file types, as these two were the ones I needed.

Only if you save as ODF .ods file format. Excel password length currently is limited to 15 characters, see comment 4 of tdf#97086.
