View function results

I’ve set LibreOffice preferences to show results (uncheck “show formulas” in Calc preferences). When I create my formula in “Function Wizard” the results windows show the expected results, but when I type “Enter” to complete the process the function (formula) is still displayed. I can’t see the results of the formula on the spreadsheet. It’s a simple concatenation of one text cell and the first letter of a second text cell.
I’m using:Version: 6.1.0.3
Build ID: efb621ed25068d70781dc026f7e9c5187a4decd1
on an iMac and Mac OS 10.13.6

Try choosing menu View - Show formulas.

Take a look at the guidelines at https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile to see if it can be caused by corruption in the user profile.

Sounds like the cell where you entered the formula had its number format set to Text, in which case all input is treated as literal text, not interpreted or converted to formula or number.

Set the number format to General, or simply remove all formatting with Ctrl+M, then edit the formula by hitting F2 and append one blank and remove it again and then hit Enter.
