Updates cause loss of recently opened files and pinned files in taskbar

Hello. I would like to know if this is issue is happening to me only, a bug, or an intended behavior: whenever I update LibreOffice and there's a change in the second number, e.g., from 6.0 to 6.1 (but not from 6.0.1 to 6.0.2), I loose the list of recently opened and pinned files in both the Windows taskbar (the list one sees when right clicks the LO Writer icon in taskbar, for example) and start menu (provided by StartIsBack+, that just fetches infos on recent files from Windows itself, maybe the registry, I don't know exactly). This happens because LO 6.1 seems to be treated -- or installed -- as a different program, with different folders, etc.

Is this intentional?

If it is intentional, is there any benefit from this? Because it's the "infinith" time I loose my curated list of pinned files and have to make it again from zero. Sure it's "just" an annoyance, but it's a frequent -- and old! -- annoyance, so it's a bit beyond that already.

This is not a bug, and this is not an intended behavior: this is a missing feature in integration with Windows shell: tdf#76131.

This is a continuing daily annoyance - whenever an update takes place, the Recent files list [pinned and unpinned] disappears from the taskbar icon [right-click on it]. So, that list has to be re-constructed again each time an update is run.

Now, in daily working [using Version: 6.4.3.2 (x64)], the recently opened list also has disappeared - SO, not only do I have to re-pin all those files that I want to see in the list [and there is no method to do so], but also I have to open a blank Calc [or Writer] and after it is open, go to the Recnt Docs list to open what I am looking for - has no-body even considered re-instating this functionality [since 2018] or telling users how to re-instate it using the Tools menu !!!

I have read the Comments on this "apparent bug", including duplicates and followed the thread back to the patch BUT, [being a member of the OFC] now that I have downloaded the patch what do I do with it? A .diff file will not open on my PC and there are no instructions as to how to install/load it. I have 2 computing degrees but no clue as to how to proceed with this - can anyone help/advise [before another several years pass us all by?
