Styles problems in Writer

In a Writer document, I set up several styles. They work fine.

But after typing a few pages, I had to change one style. So I clicked in a paragraph in that style, then went to the "Styles" menu and selected "Edit Styles..."

I made the change (increased indentation) and clicked OK.

The paragraph I'd clicked in changed as expected. But none of the other paragraphs in that style changed. And nothing I do makes them update to the changed style.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I hope your document is not too big. First, you should mark the entire text. From the menu, choose Format>Delete Direct Formatting. Now place the cursor in the individual paragraphs. and double-click the respective style. I hope it helps you. If necessary, create a copy of your document first.
