Problem creating hyperlink to pdf by drag and drop

I’m trying to do this:
1-Open the file explorer and locate the PDF file in question.
2-Make both windows, Writer and explorer visible.
3-Drag the file icon to the Writer document holding the Ctrl and Shift key before dropping, than release mouse button.

But it only creates an image of the pdf’s first page.
If I do it with a .txt file it works fine.
If I do it by clicking on “menu:Insert>Hyperlink…”, than pointing the pdf file, it works fine.

What am I doing wrong? Please help.

What am I doing wrong?

 Well - nothing wrong actually: finding a bug is a good thing, because it is the required first step to have it fixed subsequently. But filing a bug must happen at our bug tracker.

I’m not sure if it’s a bug. can you replicate it?

I can; but actually you don’t need to be sure that it’s a bug to suspect that; and that’s enough to file it. If it’s not, then the report will simply be closed with description; if it turns out to be a bug, you will notify developers on it, and it’s A Good Thing. So - please don’t hesitate to open bug reports.

ok, thanks. here is the report: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120240
