Why automatically change the toolbar icon style when updating?

When I recently updated libreoffice to 6.1.2.1 on 10-12-18, it automatically changed by toolbar icon style without asking what style I wanted or if I wanted to keep the style I was already used to seeing. Why is the style changed automatically without asking? Do you want to be like Microsoft, and do most everything without asking? Put in an option during the install proces to enable the user to keep the toolbar icon style they are already using - show us a picture of each style so we can choose which one we want. It would not be that hard to do - I have been a computer programmer for several decades, and such options are not hard to offer the user.

The icon style should only change if user is using Automatic (Foo) icon style. The Automatic means the one that is used in the suite by default. If default changes, it is reflected immediately, as you see. But any user has an option to select a non-automatic icon style (the one which is the default is also available in the list by itself).

Also if an icon style doesn’t have a maintainer, and becomes rotten (doesn’t get updated to cover new icons required for new elements), then developers could decide to exclude such a style from the distribution (usually the style is available as an extension).

So I don’t see anything strange here. No need to put some strange options in installer. Just make the necessary modifications as you like.

Thanks for the info. I was not aware that I could just set the icon style and it would not be changed unless I changed it.

How do I vote for your answer? I don’t see an obvious vote button.
