Change size of inserted image

Hello,
Each time I insert an image in a writer document it is very large. How can I change the default image setting? And can I also create a setting that gives each image the same border?

Right click on the image in LO. In the menu you can e.g. Select Crop and / or Compress .... When compressing you can make various settings and then first click the button calculate new size. If you want, click on OK.

To get an border around the image, right-click on the image. Select Properties .... In the dialog box “Image” select the tab “Outline”. Select your border and click OK.

If my answer did solve your problem, please click the big checkmark inside the circle to the left of this answer.

It will be better if you use a graphics program, e.g. Gimp or similar. Some of these programs have a batch process.

Hi,
Thanks, although this I know. What I would like to change is the standard size, now I need to resize every image and as I want them all the same smaller size I was hoping to make a setting for that. Not sure if that is possible,
Ton

See my edited answer (EDIT_1).

Ton means width and height, not file size. Haven’t done that kind of thing for a long time, so can’t help out here.

My wrong, I meant width and length. Every picture is automatically inserted on the whole page and then need to make smaller in the way you described. It’s that action I would like to see changed for a whole document.

Sorry, I’m not aware of that. Maybe someone else can help you.

You can do both things simultaneously… sort of. First, define a Frame style with the needed width and border. Then, insert an empty frame and apply to it that style. Finally, with the cursor inside the frame, insert the picture.

In principle you can just insert the image and then apply to it the frame style, but… try it, it’s weird.
