how do I get outlines of columns and rows on a table?

I had a table in excel and I have emailed it to myself on my MacBook Air. The contents of the table have come through but not the lines separating the rows and columns nor the outline of the table. What do I do to get this info in the table?

Do you mean you have emailed yourself an Excel spreadsheet?

In what format: .xls, .xlsx, .csv, .ods, something else?

What are you trying to open it in (and how)?
