I have more than 3000 columns in a sheet and this is the reason I do not use Libre office. Why does not it support more columns like Office Excel? You might be losing userbase.

This is tdf#50916.

How many rows?

If your number of rows is significantly lower than the number of columns, why don’t you transpose your sheet? You can have “only” 1024 columns (2^10) but 2^20 rows.

Really needing more than 3000 columns questions the relevance of spreadsheet application as a tool. I hope that you don’t manually enter more than 3000 elements for a “record”; It sounds like you have a machine entry process to feed your sheet (some automaton logging data?). In this case, perhaps another application would be more appropriate than spreadsheet.
