well - even skipping the part that the description is unclear, so I e.g. can’t understand what is observed … - but all this lacks the question itself!

II can’t understand what your question is and what result you want. So I will make a guess that you want know how to to set up two columns on a Writer page, and have text in the left column text blue and the right column text black. If I am wrong please explain further and ask a clear question.

My guess at what you want could be dealt with in more than one way, with different results:-

Use "newspaper columns"

  1. Create custom paragraph styles for black and blue lettering,

  2. Then a two column section (select Insert > Section). Give the section a name you can recognise (say two column)

  3. Select Format > Section > two column > Options to get a dialogue where you can set up your columns. Note that they will be “newspaper columns” meaning that entered text will try to fill up the left column, then snake into the right column as you type.

  4. Put a couple of lines in the left column and select Insert > Manual Break > Column break. You will now have two columns where you can use you black and blue lettering paragraph styles.

This arrangement has limitations, especially if either of your columns extends over more than one page, when by its very nature the text will try to snake into the other column. Attempts to get the black and blue back into their correct columns will create problems, for example if the document ever needs editing or re-formatting or if you need to keep black and blue paragraphs alongside each other

Use a table to create a pair of parallel columns

  1. Create a table with two columns, These can extend over more than one page,

  2. format the table so that the result looks like two columns,

  3. set the columns to use the red and blue paragraph styles. The red and blue will stay in their correct columns.

Some on this site seem have a mild aversion to using tables in this way, though many of us do it. I think the objection is that that used for long documents tables put a strain on the computer’s resources. I can only say that on this modest (8MB RAM) PC I can create a table extending over 40 or so pages without trouble. The arrangement allows paragraphs to be kept alongside each other (create a fresh row for each pair).

Other ways

There are other ways to set up columns that you can find on this website. Each has its advocates, and its limitations. For what it is worth, however, I tend to revert to one or other of the two ways above, and have the impression that many other users do as well.
