Outline List

I created the attached template ccmim_template_non_technical.ott.

The automatic indenting is not functioning for the Outline list style. Place the cursor at the end of an Outline list item and try to create another list item. It no longer indents. I went through all setting and cannot figure this out. Any help would be appreciated.

The LO version is 6.0.7.3 (x64) and OS is Windows 10 Home and on Windows 10 Pro.
Attached are two screenshots. 1.png is before an edit and 2.png is after an edit showing the issue.

I placed the cursor after the text in list item #3. Pressed enter and tab and typed the text “TEST”. Pressed enter and tab again and typed the text “TEST”.

Indenting is not working even though list style “Outline list” is set to indent at increasing intervals based on the outline level. “Outline List” is the the numbering style for the paragraph style “List-Outline”.1.png(/upfiles/15494657113492631.png)

Works for me, but you didn’t mention LO version and OS. Edit your question or comment it (don’t use an answer for additional info).

Remark: in your List-Outline list style, your after separator is made of (space) (space) — (space) (space). Since paragraph style List-Outline is justified, LO will expand spaces. This means the spaces in your after separator are not guaranteed to have the same width in different items resulting possibly in beginning of items not typeset in the same position.

Apologies! I didn’t see it was a matter of level. I have the same misbehaviour. I’m working on it.

Very very strange. I tried to modify parameters to no avail. Whatever I did, it looked as if paragraph style List-Outline had lost its list property. To make sure, I changed the list style to some built-in one to see if the paragraph or list style was causing the problem.

The modified paragraph style behaved as expected. I then restored Outline List and the paragraph style all of a sudden was again able to being used to build multi-level lists.

Summary: I don’t know how it happened, but you probably made a modification which was not correctly received and interpreted by Writer. Changing the list style in Outline & Numbering shook something in the style plumbing system enough to reset things. Probably, setting no style then back is enough.

Sorry, no explanation but only a workaround.
