Unable to uninstall 3.4 or 3.5.2 - 3.4 'running'?

When I attempt to uninstall LO 3.4.2 in control panel I’m told to exit LibreOffice 3.4 and its quickstartrer, though they are stopped in task Manager.
Upon installing LO 3.5.2 I get a screen at the last install screen saying,

`Please exit LibreOffice 3.4 and the LibreOffice 3.4 Quickstarter before you continue. If you are using a mulit-user system, also make sure that no other user has LibreOffice open."

Can someone tell me what process I must stop in Task Manager? Or is this another Sys 7 boondoggle?

Using Pedro’s answer, I deleted all LO 3.4 files from the Programs folder, (risking total loss of LO) and using CCCleaner to strip away any stray files, I rebooted and successfully installed 3.5.2, which seems to work very well.

Still mystified by what running process inhibited installation, but 3.5.2 evidently doesn’t need prior LO versions to kick off.

Thanks to Pedro

I’m glad my suggestion was useful  I would never recommend using CCleaner though. The few times I had the unfortunate idea of running it it did more damage to my registry than good

In task manager find “soffice” processes and stop them.
Then install LibreOffice.

This worked for me:

  • Start CMD prompt as Administrator
  • CD to where installer is located
  • Run installer from the CMD prompt
