Hi, I have a report with header and footer. Record rows are in detail portion and the sum of one numeric values column is in footer. When I see the the report print preview it shows the data rows, says 3 rows, then a big empty space and the sum shows at the bottom of page. I need to the report detail portion should shrink according to the data and the footer portion show the sum field very near to the data rows.

There are headers/footers of three types - Page, Report, and Group. Page footers are typically not for totals but rather items such as page numbering. Report and Group footers are usually the place for totals. This will print them near the detail. This is of course dependent upon the amount of white space you have in the section.

It sounds as if your totals are in a Page footer. Move them to either a Report or Group footer.

This image shows both a Report and a Page footer total:

Thank you very much sir! I did not know about report/group footer. I have inserted them and it solved my problem.
