This is the only thing that makes me unhappy with LO: I want to copy a newspaper article from the Web into Writer, and copy-and-paste doesn’t pick up the chart, image, etc., not even with Paste Special. Looking back, I see that LO users have been asking this question for over 7 years. Why is it still an issue?
I cannot reproduce your problem: for me, copy&paste from web works without problems. Please, provide the url from where you are copying, maybe the site is set in a way it’s not possible (or, at least, not easy) to copy content.
Depends on “linking” or “embedding” pictures in source code. You gain the best results when copying/pasting little parts of text and separately images.
