I am entering numbers in column A from 1 to 100. At cell 56 Libre Office autofills a text string attached to the 56. Where is it getting the text string and how do I fix tis?

LO 56 issue.ods

This file was created from a scanned pdf file using Abie Reader.

It is unclear what you expect to “fix”. If you don’t need the suggested thing, then when you enter what you need and see that there’s some autosuggested text, you dimply delete it.

It wouldn’t delete. It had Terminator persistence. I don’t need help from the software entering speculative keystrokes only to have to delete them. I have yet to use software that events(I had typed even has) a clue what I am writing. Your very kind answer indicated the text string was being lifted from cell A9. Why? During the conversion from the pdf scan were invisible links of some sort created? I looked for a feature where a frequently used string would be auto filled via recognizing the first few keystrokes, but alas, no luck.
Thanks Mike
I am a geezer class computer pounder and hail from a time when efficiency was a goal. Where’s Waldo was a kids game, not the major theme for most web pages. Rant over. Thanks again.

Calc is a spreadsheet application. Taking values from the same column above as a hint to user increases efficiency of most typical ways of spreadsheet usage (which is entering large amount of tabular, i.e. homogeneous, information). But of course, one can disable autosuggestion in Tools->AutoInput.

It is taking it from cell A9.
